Heights volleyball goes 1-2

At Clifton, the Harker Heights Lady Knights went 1-2 in the Clifton tournament Saturday, falling to Centerville 25-14, 20-25, 25-16 and Godley 27-25, 19-25, 25-21.

They won the middle match of the day defeating Crawford 25-19, 29-27, thanks to Bianca Patterson's seven kills and Taylor Denney's nine assists.

Against Centerville, Starnisha Bodie led with six kills and five blocks and Ashlyn Osbourne added 14 assists. Patterson and Denney led versus Godley with 11 kills and 11 assists, respectively.

VB: Killeen drops a pair

At Austin, Killeen High just couldn't catch a break this weekend with a winless showing at the three-day Austin ISD Tournament, dropping a pair of four-game matches Saturday.

The Lady Roos (2-6) lost 26-24, 25-10, 18-25, 25-23 to Boerne and then fell 25-18, 25-22, 22-25, 25-22 to Princeton in their final game.

DeQuise Robinson and Bria McIver each had eight kills apiece against Boerne, while Mariah Shaw and Carly Foster led with 10 kills against Princeton. Setter Esha Atkins combined for 22 assists.
