Former Shoemaker defensive lineman Brandon Joiner was named the Players All-Star Classic college football Defensive MVP.
Joiner, a senior defensive end at Arkansas State and the Sun Belt Conference defensive player of the year, recorded a pair of sacks and handful of tackles in the South’s 24-19 loss to the North in the debut Classic on Saturday in Little Rock, Ark.
