How can Belton get back to the playoffs this year?
“This team has the talent scattered throughout.
“We don’t have that one dominant player that we had last year, so we have to find new ways to score and new rotations.”
What is your role in accomplishing that goal?
“I feel like I have to focus on blocking, because that is something we are a little weaker in since we don’t have a lot of height.
“So, I just have to be more aggressive in the front row.”
How did you start playing volleyball?
“I started in the seventh grade and my dad kind of introduced me to it.”
Why did you pick your jersey number (one)?
“I like being the first one on the list. I’ve been number one since middle school and all through varsity.”
What is the most played song on your iPod right now?
“I don’t know, but it is probably by Taylor Swift.”
Is there anything you do before each game?
“I don’t really have any superstitions. I have to eat ... it’s usually just crackers, though.”
What is your favorite food?
“Chocolate, but I can’t eat that before the game because (coach Justeen Coulson) would get mad. ... After games, I usually want a Snickers. The commercials are right. They really do (satisfy you).”
Where do you want to go to college and major in?
“My first choice is Baylor and then Texas A&M. I am not for sure yet what I want to major in, probably something like physical therapy.”
How did you get interested in physical therapy?
“I took anatomy last year and I really, really enjoyed it and I’d like to stay on that path.”
What is your favorite thing to do when not on the volleyball court?
“I am kind of a nerd, so I am usually doing homework, but that is not my favorite thing to do.
“I really just like to do events with my youth group. This year the big thing was Backyard Bible Club.”
What exactly is Backyard Bible Club?
“It is a lot like vacation bible school, except we go to host homes and we have the school in their backyards.
“It is really fun.”
