Harker Heights 63, Belton 44 — At Belton, a slow start turned into a collective effort, as nine different Lady Knights scored in their 19-point win to keep pace with fellow first-place teams Ellison and Temple.
Brianna Freeman led Harker Heights (21-8, 7-2 12-5A) with 18 points. Eboniey Jeter had 12 and JaQuan Jackson and Bianca Patterson added nine and eight points, respectively. Meghan Braeuer scored a game-high 20 points for Belton (9-19, 1-7).
“We had a lot of kids get on the books tonight, go in and do what we needed them to do.” Heights coach Shirretha Nelson said.
