There's a bit of revenge mixed in, but the Lady Roos really just want to keep winning.

Killeen looks to avenge a last-second loss to Stephenville and extend its four-game win streak when it hosts the district-leading Honeybees at 6:30 p.m. tonight.

The Lady Roos (18-12, 7-2 8-4A) could clinch their third district co-championship in four years and go into the playoffs having avenged a 50-48 loss to the Honeybees on Jan. 20.

The Copperas Cove football team has had an enormous amount of success recently, both on the gridiron and off. While the Bulldawgs were bi-district 12-5A champions on the field, Robert Griffin III won the Heisman for Baylor and Charles Tillman had a career year for the Chicago Bears, making the Pro Bowl.

And on Wednesday, the Bulldawgs sent their fifth straight featured running back to a Division I school when Brandon Hamilton signed with Rice. Hamilton is the latest, but Donald Buckram was the first in that line.

He was an anxious and excited freshman about to start his first college game in front of a home crowd of more than 3,700 fans at Hofheinz Pavilion on the University of Houston campus.

Tashawn Thomas, welcome to college basketball.

The former Killeen High School standout scored 13 points and grabbed eight rebounds to go along with a contribution cornucopia — three blocks, five assists and two steals — in the Cougars' season-opening win over Grambling State.

Exhausted after reversing a reversal from Bryan's Rafael Aguilar in the final seconds of the third period to force sudden death in their 120-pound championship match Saturday, Jordan quickly found himself in a precarious situation.
